Still want more? If you really want to get your Icelandic króna's worth (pictured), I'm including some behind-the-scene's extra footage (although mostly just for laughs). By the way, this is the real money left over at the end of the trip. There's about a 10:1 exchange rate, so a 500 Krona bill is worth about $50 U.S. dollars -- and money goes fast here (that's why they have 5000 Krona bills -- you'll need them). Expect to burn through several thousand Krona a day (if you're traveling in style). But it's worth it.

Behind The Scenes

Anyone that knows me, knows that even at home, I never walk out the door without my trusty tiny notebook in my back pocket. And on vacation, this becomes my daily journal, and is especially helpful to remember place names, pronunciation, what I did each day -- or sometimes just to remember where I parked the car at the mall (ha ha).

Other times, I just 'doodle' in it -- or draw small cartoons based on (or inspired by) my experiences for the day.

These 'doodles' stay in the book, and I've never shared these before -- so this is a rare, never before seen, sneak peek into my journal.
