  The next morning, a 'Super-Jeep' tour from Vik takes visitors to an ice cave in the nearby Katla Glacier. It's a 30 minute, off-road ride over lava fields to the glacier's edge (pictured). The 'Super-Jeep' has jumbo, soft tires to drive over the rough terrain. Looking at the face of the glacier, it's covered in black lava dust and rocks, but you can see the opening to the ice cave.
