The next morning, driving several hours back to Reykjavik, and to see some of the sights skipped on the way down. In the distance are large glaciers -- just out of reach. Those may be part of Vatnajökull Glacier & National Park -- but it's a bit far to reach during this trip. Maybe an excursion for next time...

A morning stop at Reynisfjara Hálsanefshellir black sand beach (try pronouncing it -- I dare you). This is a must-see location with wide beaches and expansive views, and it's easy to spend an hour or more here. It's actually raining right now (sun shower), but reasonably comfortable and not too windy.

I don't mind a little rain, and explore the beach and the interesting rock formations here.
