Friday, Sep 14 -- time to check out of the hotel and prepare to fly home. An afternoon flight provides a few more hours to explore the city, which has many nice pastry shops by the way. You can find donuts and bagels here -- and getting lox is no problem (in fact, they probably invented it). Plus a quick visit to the Reykjavik art museum to see some modern Icelandic art, and the 'City Center' for some final shopping.

It's a relatively short flight home to New York (under 6 hours), and thanks to the time difference, it's only 2 hours later by the clock. I look out the window and see Home Depot in Elmont as the plane gets ready to land in JFK.

It's been a fun 2-weeks in Iceland, and I hope you enjoyed spending this small part of it with me.
